The Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society (JKCS) is a non-political, community-driven organisation dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, and opportunities of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Formed by a diverse group of professionals, academics, students, and social activists, JKCS works to strengthen democratic values, promote transparency, and ensure equitable access to education, employment, and social welfare.
Research-based advocacy, grounded in the field
JKCS serves as a bridge between citizens and institutions, raising issues of public concern through research-based advocacy, consultations, and direct engagement with policymakers. The society has consistently taken the lead on matters related to reservation policy, educational reforms, youth empowerment, community welfare, cultural preservation, and social justice.
We believe in constructive, lawful, and peaceful engagement. JKCS regularly conducts outreach programmes, public awareness drives, field interactions, and stakeholder meetings to understand grassroots issues and present practical solutions. Our memorandums, policy suggestions, and interventions reflect a commitment to fairness, merit, and the long-term wellbeing of Jammu and Kashmir.

To build a just, inclusive, and progressive Jammu and Kashmir where every citizen, irrespective of social, cultural, or economic background, has equal access to opportunities, education, justice, and dignity. We envision a society rooted in transparency, merit, harmony, and democratic values, empowered by informed citizens and accountable institutions.
Channeling youth energy into action
Recognising the pivotal role of youth, JKCS has established the J&K Youth Forum, a platform to encourage young voices, nurture leadership, and channel their energy towards productive social action.

Income Tax Department recognition of JKCS as a charitable organisation. This registration ensures income received through donations and grants is tax-exempt, directing more resources toward public welfare, education, youth development, and community services.
80G Certification
80G certification allows donors to claim tax deductions on contributions made to JKCS, encouraging philanthropy and strengthening the organisation's ability to mobilise public and institutional support.
